Dr DS Martolia, Head of Community Medicine at Government Medical College, Kannauj, emphasises specific precautions. One important suggestion is to stay indoors during cold mornings. Winter health precautions involve staying indoors in extremely cold weather, dressing warmly, and taking prescribed medications.

He recommends massaging with sesame, mustard, and olive oil, coupled with a diet comprising milk, turmeric, sesame seeds, jaggery, peanuts, linseed laddus, celery, a half handful of mixed nuts (brown ones), amla, lemon, and orange.
