Hyundai Launches Drive4Progress Initiative to Accelerate Employment for 1500+ Youth Across 5 States
Hyundai's 'Drive4Progress' program, in partnership with NGOs, empowers 1,500+ youth, offering driving skills and job opportunities across 5 Indian states.

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the philanthropic powerhouse of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), has officially unveiled ‘Drive4Progress.’

This remarkable initiative is all about nurturing the potential of young individuals and paving their way towards promising employment opportunities.

The goal of this initiative is to empower more than 1,500 young individuals, including women, from states like Haryana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal over the course of the next three years.

The ‘Drive4Progress’ program was inaugurated with a touch of humanity. Shri. Gaurav Singh, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Haryana State CSR Trust, personally handed out essential training kits to the beneficiaries, with Mr. Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head – Corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motor India Limited, standing by to show his support. The event was a poignant reminder of the positive changes this project is set to bring. This impactful initiative is made possible in partnership with Navjyoti Transforming Lives & Careers Society, a dedicated Non-Governmental Organization.

By collaborating with Navjyoti, HMIF seeks to sculpt a pool of skilled drivers from Below Poverty Line (BPL) communities, providing them with the tools and skills needed for successful careers in the transportation industry.

Hyundai ‘Drive4Progress’ Initiative: What is it all about?

Hyundai ‘Drive4Progress’ initoative unfolds in three pivotal stages – mobilization, comprehensive training, and job creation.

  • Comprehensive Training: Over 1,500 beneficiaries, living in 15 cities across the five states, will embark on a 45-day training journey. This holistic training program encompasses not just practical driving skills but also theoretical knowledge and essential soft skills, all in their native languages.
  • Licensing and Certification: As part of the ‘Drive4Progress’ program, HMIF and Navjyoti will guide students in obtaining permanent driving licenses. Those who complete their training will proudly receive certifications from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), celebrating their hard-earned accomplishments.
  • Employment Focus: The ‘Drive4Progress’ initiative goes beyond just training; it focuses on creating opportunities for at least 70% of the beneficiaries to find wage-based employment, with the remaining participants encouraged to explore self-employment paths.

With ‘Drive4Progress,’ Hyundai Motor India Foundation is turning dreams into reality, offering young lives a path to a brighter and more promising future.
