IIT Roorkee Launches Free Online Course On AI; Check Last Date To Enrol

IIT Roorkee, in a significant development, announced a free online course on artificial intelligence (AI) in marketing on the SWAYAM NPTEL platform. The course will be offered to students who hold a Bachelor’s degree. The free online course on artificial intelligence has been launched by the educational institution with the aim to help students understand the impact of technology in traditional marketing. The free online course will also help students in addressing concerns about ethical AI. Reportedly, the course is being conducted by professor Dr Zillur Rahman, who works for the Department of Management Studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. With over 20 years of experience in academia, the professor has delivered research talks in many countries across the world. He has also been honoured with the Commendable Faculty Award in the domain of Business, Management and Accounting.

According to the SWAYAM NPTEL portal, the IIT Roorkee’s free online course on artificial intelligence will cover the topics given below:

• In depth knowledge of the basics of artificial intelligence in marketing.
• The role of artificial intelligence in the value delivery process.
• Application of AI in marketing mix.
• Marketing research, individual dynamics and the impact on consumers.
• Meaning, characteristics, and personalisation of customer experience.
• Use of AI for value creation and product development.
• Ways to implement artificial intelligence.
• Artificial intelligence’s role in advertising.
• AI in different domains including sales promotion, direct marketing, PR and publicity and social media marketing.
• Navigating challenges in artificial intelligence.

It is pertinent to note that although the course is free to pursue, candidates will be required to pay Rs 1000 and take an examination to obtain certificates with logos of NPTEL and IIT Roorkee. Reportedly, the exam is slated to be conducted on April 27, 2024. Candidates will be allowed to choose either the morning or afternoon session, as per their convenience.

Candidates must note that they will be given only the e-certificates. They will not be given any physical certificates. It is advisable for the ones who wish to enrol in the course to visit the official website for further information. The course has already started on January 22. The last date to enrol for the course is January 29. The entire duration of the course is 12 weeks.
