Exclusive! Ravi Teja Dislikes The Word 'Pan-India', Says 'It Sounds Ridiculous, Our Films Should...'

Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageswara Rao is undoubtedly one of the most hyped films of this year. The action-thriller film, helmed by Vamsee, tells the story of a notorious thief from the 1970s and the tagline of the film says that it is based on true rumours. The film, which marks the debut of Nupur Sanon in the lead, also features Anupam Kher, Jisshu Sengupta, Renu Desai, Gayatri Bharadwaj, and Anukreethy Vyas among others.

While the film is touted as the first pan-Indian film for Teja who is popularly known as Mass Maharaja, the actor in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, says that he dislikes the term, “I don’t like the word Pan India. It sounds ridiculous. We are one nation and our films should be addressed as Indian cinema collectively. I would request everyone to stop using this word.”

He adds, “The audience today is watching all kinds of cinemas and in various languages including some foreign languages. With the boom of OTT, viewers have been exposed to some amazing content so there is no classification based on any language. If a film is made with honesty, from the heart, it will resonate with the audience.”

Ask the actor about his plans to do a straight Hindi language film and he says, “Kuch dhang ka aaya nahi. Aaye the lekin koi maza nahi aya. Lekin theek hai jo bhi ho raha hai acha hi ho raha hai (I have not been offered anything good. The ones that I was offered were not exciting enough. Whatever is happening is for my good). Finally, I am here so let’s hope for the best.”

Over the years, the Telugu actor has found popularity among the Hindi-speaking audience with many of his Telugu films dubbed for satellite. With Tiger Nageswara Rao, the actor hopes to receive the same kind of love, “I believe Tiger Nageswara Rao will take the audiences on a thrilling ride of action as well as emotions, keeping them engaged from start till the end. There is a lot of dedication and training that went into preparing for my character, Tiger. We hope it translates well on the big screen, and audiences appreciate the story.”
