My Name is Loh Kiwan’s teaser offers a glimpse of Loh Kiwan (Song Joong-ki), a North Korean defector, trying his best to survive in Belgium after escaping from North Korea. He seeks out on a mission to earn the 'refugee' classification.

The official Netflix teaser of director Kim Hee-jin’s upcoming romance drama My Name is Loh Kiwan was dropped on February 1. Starring Song Joong-ki in the lead, the film is set to premiere on the OTT platform on March 1. The actor known for his powerful performances in several movies and web shows will be playing the role of a North Korean defector in this yet-to-be-released film. Song Joong-ki as Loh Kiwan will be shown as an individual struggling to survive in a cold and ruthless world. Along with the teaser, the makers also dropped a fierce poster of My Name is Loh Kiwan on social media.

The teaser offers a glimpse of Loh Kiwan who sacrificed almost everything he had and escaped the autocratic rule of North Korea. Although he successfully flees from the country and arrives in Belgium, Loh Kiwan is faced with many ordeals. Neither has he been sheltered to live nor does he have money to survive. Amidst battling with frigid winters, poverty, and starvation he seeks out on a mission to earn the “refugee" classification and the right to live in a foreign country. However, since Loh Kiwan had no way to prove that he successfully escaped North Korea, the Belgian court denied his classification.

The teaser captures Loh Kiwan’s immense struggle in Belgium without any support. From his identity being snatched to no one believing him and spending nights in washrooms and the streets, Loh Kiwan is driven by only one motto — to survive. Eventually, he meets a young woman Mari, played by actress Choi Sung-Eun, and their lives get intertwined. The gritty premises and a through-and-through tale of survival with Song Joong-ki’s stellar acting chops promise a journey like no other.

It captured him standing on the streets surrounded by a crowd of unknown people in motion, underlining the fact that he is all alone in a world full of strangers. ‘I have decided to survive in this land," read the tagline.
