Arjun Reddy Star Shalini Pandey Lauds Animal Teaser, Calls Sandeep Reddy Vanga 'Impactful' | Exclusive
Shalini Pandey shares Sandeep Reddy Vanga showed her the teaser of Animal way before its release. She also reveals if another film with the director is on cards.

The teaser of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s second Hindi directorial outing, Animal, generated a positive buzz and has amped up the intrigue of the audience. The teaser of the gangster drama offered a glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor’s tumultuous bond with his father played by Anil Kapoor and a quirky Bobby Deol, whose character has given rise to many conversations and debates. The makers have also dropped two songs, Satranga and Hua Main, that showcases Ranbir’s scintillating chemistry with Rashmika Mandanna, who plays his love interest.

And it seems like the teaser of Animal has struck a chord with Sandeep’s first leading lady, Shalini Pandey, as well. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, the Arjun Reddy (2017) actor says, “I’ve seen the teaser of Animal. In fact, Sandeep showed it to me before it got released. I texted him also and we had a chat over it.”

So, what’s her take on the film so far? “We all know that Sandeep is a very impactful director. It’s not his story or the characters that are amazing but the way he envisions a film and shoots it creates an impact. That’s what also happened with the teaser of Animal,” states Shalini.

She reveals that she shares a close equation with the filmmaker and looks forward to being directed by him again soon. “There’s nothing as of now. But Sandeep is a very dear friend and I started my career with him. I’ll always have that respect for him and the bond we share will always remain special,” the 30-year-old remarks.

She goes on to say that she wouldn’t mind reaching out to him for work in the future. Talking about it, she adds, “We’re very honest with each other about our individual works. If he thinks that I can play a character written by him and I feel excited by something he writes, I’m sure we’ll work together. We’ve that easiness to reach out to each other and I would love that.”

On the work front, Shalini will next be seen in Maharaj with Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan and a web series that also stars Shabana Azmi. Though her Hindi theatrical debut Jayeshbhai Jordaar failed to impress the audience and the critics, she feels happy with the work that’s coming her way. “I love being in front of the camera and playing different characters. It makes me feel alive. I don’t think I ever felt overwhelmed. I only feel so when I fall sick during work sometimes. Even then, I push myself despite feeling very tired,” she says.

Shalini further continues, “I always wanted to be an actor. I was pursuing engineering and I had to convince my parents that I wanted to act. So, for me, it’s a big deal to become an actor. In my first few years when I was staying in Hyderabad and going to Chennai for work, I was juggling between so many things but it only gave me a lot of joy.”
