The Gujarat Giants will look to put the previous season behind them and look for a fresh start in the upcoming season in 2024. The side had a disastrous campaign as they were the worst-performing side in the league.
The inaugural season was held entirely in Mumbai.
Skipper Beth Mooney was a big miss for the side as she picked up an injury during the opening fixture which forced her to miss the season. South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt took her spot while Sneh Rana took over as captain.

How Gujarat Giants fared in WPL 2023?
Gujarat Giants didn’t have the best of starts to life in the Women’s Premier League earlier this year when the tournament kicked off. They finished last in the five-team competition having managed just two victories from eight matches. Ashleigh Gardner emerged as their most valuable player as she top-scored for them with 204 runs and took 10 wickets – the second most for GG after Kim Garth’s 11.

Gujarat Giants at WPL Auction
The team looked to improve their sides with a bunch of players being let go. GG entered the WPL 2024 auction with the highest purse of Rs 5.95 crores. GG also splashed the cash for Kashvee Gautam for 2 Crore Rupees at the WPL 2024 auction as she became the most expensive uncapped player at the auction. They also added the Australian Phoebe Litchfield to the side as well among other players.
