Automotive Giants Step Forward To Uplift EV Culture, Here's How
Top carmakers putting more efforts in EV segment, and investing a big chunk of money to its infrastructure. Check top initiatives that shaping the segment.

In a move to revolutionize the EV culture in India and kill the range anxiety among customers, multiple car manufacturers have started investing extra efforts in their infrastructure. To make it more trustworthy, and reliable, multiple initiatives are being taken by the brands.

In such a move, Kia has unveiled K-Charge, an initiative, which will allow battery-powered car owners in India to discover more than 1000 charging stations, using the MyKia application.

It has been informed by the company that the initiative will also benefit the non-kia owners as well. It will help them to discover multiple charging stations under one roof.

K-Charge Initiative Charging Partners

In order to make the move a big hit, the company has collaborated with multiple charging operators. The list includes ChargeZone, Ki Statiq, Lion Charge, Relux Electric, and E-Fill. It has been informed by the company that it has signed a special deal with Relux Electric, which allows Kia customers to enjoy 3 months of free charging service at their stations.

Benefits of K-Charge Initiative

With the help of K-Charge initiative, customers will be able to discover charging stations, availability of slots, locate locations, and even pay the charging bills using the same application on their smartphones. The move will not just eliminate the need to rely on third-party applications, but also will uplift the EV ownership experience.

MG Motor To Contribute in EV Segment

Apart from Kia, there are many car makers, who are putting efforts to introduce multiple initiatives to support EV culture in India. Recently, Morris Garage aka MG has collaborated with real estate developers Prestige Group, and is gearing up to set up over 100 charging stations in Bangalore.

The brand says, the move will not just eliminate the range anxiety but also boost the customer’s confidence in the segment.

Tata’s Advance Charging Network in Guwahati

The homegrown carmaker Tata is also leaving no stone unturned to make EV segment more reliable than ever. To achieve the goal, the brand has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam Government, and plans to set up an EV charging network in Guwahati. As per the official details, the company aims to develop over 10 advanced EV charging networks, which will provide service on 10 top locations in the city.
