Taapsee Pannu to produce a new web series, a source told News18 Showsha exclusively. In 2021, Taapsee Pannu launched her maiden production venture named Outsider Films. She joined hands with Pranjal Khandhdiya, who has earlier produced films like Soorma, Rashmi Rocket and Kachhey Kimbu. Last year, the duo produced their first film titled Blurr under their banner. Starring Taapsee and Gulshan Devaiah, the horror thriller revolves around a woman, who faces two massive turns in life, the death of her twin sister and her eyesight weakening with every passing day.
Last week, their second venture, Dhak Dhak, which marks their first theatrical release as producers, hit the big screen. Starring Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza Rekhi, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanjana Sanghi, the slice-of-life film told the story of four ordinary women who end up discovering themselves as they ride a bike from New Delhi to Khardung La.
A multitasker, alongside acting, Taapsee has been successfully dabbling in production. Despite the lukewarm response Dhak Dhak received at a box office, it seems like there’s no stopping her. In fact, News18 Showsha has exclusively learnt that Taapsee has already begun work on her next projects. Interestingly, she is all set to back a web show next. A source tells us, “Yes, Taapsee is currently working on the pre-production of a web series. Whether or not she will be starring in it, is still unclear. The script has already been locked but the casting is still at a nascent stage.”
The source further adds that Taapsee has also greenlit another film. “The pre-production work on it is underway. If all goes well, the shoot for it will start very soon. Taapsee loved the story as it aligns with her sensibility as an actor and audience,” adds the source.
When her business partner, Pranjal, was asked about the same, he confirmed the news and told us, “We have a very good line-up of content that we’ve developed in-house. Our next production is going on floors soon. The paperwork on it is being processed. There’s also a web series that we’re planning to get into. It’s a lovely series that we’re developing. Both these announcements should happen in the coming months.”
On the acting front, Taapsee will next be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki where is paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The shoot for the film has already been wrapped with the post-production work currently underway. While most details about the drama is kept under wraps, a report stated that it ‘deals with a man’s journey of trying to find a better way of life and the various emotions he goes through while doing so’. Dunki is slated for a theatrical release on December 23 this year. She also has projects like Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan and Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba in her kitty.
