Production-ready Mahindra Thar Five-Door Spotted, To Come With Multiple Color Options
The five-door Thar will likely be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines as the three-door model

Fresh details have emerged about the highly anticipated Mahindra Thar five-door.

With the official price announcement set for 15 August, test units have been spotted in their production-ready form.

According to Rushlane, the latest images show the Thar five-door test models wrapped in heavy camouflage. However, we get a sneak peek at the color options, which include striking red and black. Expect at least five to six color choices at launch.

Key features spotted on these test units include circular LED DRLs in the headlamp cluster, a new multi-slat grille, side steps, dual-tone alloy wheels from the three-door model, fender-mounted turn indicators, plastic cladding, new LED taillights, and a tailgate-mounted spare tire cover.

Inside, the 2024 Thar five-door is likely to get some impressive updates: a larger touchscreen unit, dual-pane sunroof (single-pane in lower variants), front armrest, USB Type-C charging ports, B-pillar-mounted rear door handles, digital instrument cluster, and automatic climate control.

Under the hood, the five-door Thar is expected to come with the same engines as its three-door sibling: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel, both available with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

It will take on rivals like the Force Gurkha five-door and popular mid-size SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor.
