Scoot, the budget-friendly arm of Singapore Airlines (SIA), has just announced the launch of daily flights between Chennai and Singapore, starting from November 5, 2023.
This remarkable initiative reflects Scoot’s unwavering commitment to providing travelers with affordable, seamless, and extraordinary journeys while ensuring easy access to major cities via Singapore.
The launch of this direct flight service, operated by Scoot’s advanced Airbus A320 aircraft, is set to bring about a transformation in international connectivity for Chennai. This landmark route will not only benefit Chennai but also provide domestic travelers, whether they are on business or leisure trips, with access to Scoot’s vast network spanning the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe.
The momentous revelation took place at a heartwarming media event in Chennai, attended by Mr. Brian Torrey, Scoot’s General Manager for India and West Asia. During this gathering, Mr. Torrey shared his optimism about the Indian market and unveiled exciting plans and developments for this pioneering low-cost carrier.
With Chennai now on the map, Scoot’s reach extends to six fantastic Indian destinations, including Amritsar, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Trivandrum, and Visakhapatnam.

Two daily flight options will connect Chennai and Singapore with Scoot’s service. Flight TR578 will travel from Singapore to Chennai every day, departing at 22:20 hrs and arriving at 23:50 hrs.
The aircraft for this route will be the Airbus 320. On the return journey, Flight TR579 will operate daily, departing from Chennai at 00:35 hrs and reaching Singapore at 07:20 hrs, also utilizing an Airbus 320 for the journey. These daily flights provide travelers with convenient options to explore both cities while experiencing the comfort of Scoot’s modern Airbus 320 aircraft.
