The leading car maker Tata is expected to drop the much-awaited Avinya in the Indian market somewhere around 2025. Ahead of the official, most of the related details about design and specs were already at the AutoExpo 2023. Now, in fresh development, it has been confirmed by the company that the EV will feature Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform.
Tata Avinya’s JLR Platform
According to the details shared by Tata’s official, it has been learned that the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JLR, which allows the brand to use JLR’s platform in the EV division. It is the same platform, which will be used in the next-generation Range Rover Velar, Discovery Sport, and Evoque.
Tata to Use EMA Platform in Future Cars
Reports also suggested that Tata is in the mood to use the platform in its future products as well. The modular architecture reportedly will localised in the country to develop the electric Avinya. The idea will not only keep the cost down but also save a lot of time.
All About EMA Platform
In case you are wondering why Tata chose JLR’s EMA platform. It offers robust cutting-edge technology including Level 2 plus autonomous capabilities, good battery management, ultrafast charging capabilities, an integrated propulsion system, over-the-air updates, and whatnot. The brand itself is expected to release its first EMA-based vehicles somewhere around 2024 in the United Kingdom.
Tata Avinya Design
It is expected that the electric-powered Avinya will come with a futuristic design, and might share some of the design elements from its concept avatar, which was showcased in autoExpo this year. It will feature a full LED headlight setup, and LED DRls, covering the front grille. The vehicle is expected to be offered in a dual-tone colour scheme. However, the company is yet to confirm the details regarding the same.
