So, without wasting further time, take a nice spot, and grab that coffee as we deep dive into the first drive experience of the Tata Curvv fuel version. Let’s Do this!

Looks and Road Presence

First thing first, the looks as it is one of the most important things for anyone we feel! As the sun rises over the horizon, casting a golden glow on the sleek silhouette of the Tata Curvv, one can’t help but stare at the model for quite a decent time, all thanks to its impressive road presence.

From having a bi-functional LED headlight setup to sequential DRLs to LED fog lamps with cornering functions, the company has tried to invest in every possible effort to hook its target audience with its latest offering. The front facia looks slightly inspired by its giant SUV Safari as it shares a similar front grill.

The company has also added a silver finish skid placed under the front end, offering extra protection to the vehicle on uneven terrain and off-roading. To make it superior, it is also complemented by flush door handles, putting extra feathers to its overall road presence.

Overall Size and Space

Despite being derived from Nexon, the Curvv managed to steal the show with its separate identity. It looks quite bigger in real as compared to photos. Talking about the overall dimension, it is 4,308 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, 1,630 mm in height, and offers a wheelbase of 2,560 mm.

Even with the coupe-style design, the model is capable of providing boot space of 500 litres, which can be extended to more than 900 once seats are folded.

What’s Inside

As soon as the door opens. The Curvv welcomes the passengers with a top-class cabin, featuring 4 four-spoke illuminated digital steering wheel, a themed dashboard with mood lighting, and leatherette upholstery, and the list never ends.

The cabin comes with a 31.24 CM touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, which supports all the wireless car connect technology including Android, Apple and Auto car play.

The other notable features include a massive voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, JBL sound system with 9 speakers, wireless charging pad, electrochromic IRVM with auto-dimming function, and electrically adjustable front ventilated seats among others.

Drive and Handling

We have spent a decent time with a diesel model and drove it to somewhere 80 km to 85km. It is powered by a robust 1.5-litre diesel Kryojet engine that offers an impressive 116bhp and a peak torque of 260Nm. While returning to the base to submit the car, we had a wide smile on our face, major credit goes to its rooted driving experience, comfortable ventilated seats and smooth handling.

We somehow tried to put the vehicle on the ordeal and tested it on multiple terrains. From muddy surfaces to bumpy roads, the car fortunately took all the pain and made us feel relaxed and secure on the go. The suspension setup surely deserves extra marks for handling the challenging terrain effortlessly.

Any Complaints?

Amid all the plus notes, there is a bitter side also that can not be ignored. The car slightly created more noise as compared to normal diesel models. However, the cabin insulation was there to ensure we could enjoy our favourite songs during the drive calmly.

Safety

The Tata Curvv is equipped with a very responsive level 2 ADAS. It offers a long list of autonomous features. The list includes, a blind spot monitoring system, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control mode, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and the list goes on. The company has yet to share the crash test rating for the same. However, some officials said it will achieve a five-star rating during the crash test like any other Tata model.

Here’s What We Feel

Now, here comes our judgment. If you are in the mood to purchase a car and have a budget under Rs 10-20 lakh, Curvv surely deserve a safe spot in your priority list. From offering a smooth driving experience to comfortable seats with a species cabin to a long list of trending features, the model somehow checks all the boxes that the company promises.

To note, it’s a five-seater SUV, which can accommodate three healthy passengers in the back seat.
