Balkaur Singh, the father of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, has leveled accusations against the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Mann, alleging harassment following the birth of his second son. Balkaur Singh and his wife Charan Kaur celebrated the arrival of their newborn baby boy on March 17, marking nearly two years since the loss of their only son, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, affectionately known as Sidhu Moose Wala.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Balkaur Singh said, “Due to the blessings of Waheguru, we got our Shubhdeep back. But the government is harassing me since morning, asking me to furnish documents of the baby. They are questioning me to prove that this child is legal.” Check out the video here:
“I want to request the government, especially Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, to allow for all treatments to be over. I belong here and will come to any place you call me (for questioning),” Balkaur Singh added.
In December 2021, the government enacted the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, which mandates that clinics can provide ART services to either married couples or single women. The woman seeking treatment must be aged between 21 and 50, while the man involved must be aged between 21 and 55.
According to reports, Charan Kaur is 58 and Balbir is 60. He captioned the photo in Punjabi. Balkaur Singh had earlier confirmed that the baby was born through IVF at a hospital in Bhatinda.
Sidhu Moosewala was tragically murdered on May 29 of the same year. He was shot dead by assailants in his car on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke village of Mansa district. The singer was really popular, particularly among the youth, and was known for composing and producing his own songs.
