Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan have collaborated on multiple successful films, including Pink and Badla. Reflecting on their extensive work together, Taapsee recently discussed her deep connection with Big B and expressed her admiration for the megastar. She fondly recalled memorable experiences they shared while working on various hit movies.
In an interview with Raj Shamani, Taapsee Pannu said, “He is such an amazing actor. Some actors, when you look into their eyes, your performance level enhances naturally. It’s not about intimidation, at least not for me. Looking into Mr. Bachchan’s eyes gave me a high, and I enjoyed it, which I experienced in Badla later. That is what I call chemistry that I had with him from the first film and second film which I loved between that action and cut. And I would want to experience it again."
Taapsee emphasised that Amitabh Bachchan always treated her as an equal, never making her feel like she was working with someone who had more life experiences. She mentioned, “He never shows that he knows more or has seen more in life. He talks to me like Abhishek does, just casually, treating me like an equal. Abhishek would joke with me during Manmarziyan that I knew her as my father’s friend. That’s the kind of relationship I developed with Bachchan sir that I can sit and talk to him casually, like anyone in my age group."
Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s legal drama, Pink, boasted a stellar cast comprising Amitabh Bachchan, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi, Tushar Pandey, Piyush Mishra, and Dhritiman Chatterjee. In this film, Taapsee delivered a standout performance portraying the character of an urban girl named Meenal. Meanwhile, in Sujoy Ghosh’s mystery thriller, Badla, Taapsee took on the role of a businesswoman entangled in the murder of her lover.
In the same interview, Taapsee Pannu expressed admiration for her co-star Shah Rukh Khan in the film Dunki. She conveyed feeling “lucky" to have had an equal number of shoot days as SRK.
Work-wise, Taapsee Pannu has an exciting lineup of projects in her kitty. The actress is all set to star in director Arshad Syed’s comedy-drama film Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan alongside Prateik Patil Babbar. Additionally, she is gearing up for Jayprad Desai’s thriller film Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba in which she will be joined by Vikrant Massey and Jimmy Shergill.
