New Delhi: Key sectors of the economy grew 5.6 per cent in November, according to Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.
"The six-core index has registered a growth of 5.3 per cent in November 2009 as compared to 0.8 per cent in the previous year," said Sharma.
The month saw steel production increasing 11.7 per cent, cement 9 per cent, coal 3.3 per cent, petroleum refinery products 4.9 per cent and electricity generation by 1.8 per cent.
Crude oil production, however, declined to 1.6 per cent.
The six core industries had grown 3.5 percent in the corresponding period last year.
