Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange 30-share barometer rallied by 248 points at 1030 hrs due to heavy all round buying on the back of higher Asian advices.
The benchmark Sensex resumed higher at 9,207.52 and shot up further to 9,320.84 before quoting at 9,318.93 at 1030 hours as against the Tuesday's closing level of 9,071.36, showing a smart rise of 247.57 points or 2.73 per cent.
The 50-share Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also was up 67.35 points or 2.45 per cent at 2,812.30 at 1030 hrs from its last close.
Asian stocks were trading higher in the morning as rebound in oil boosted energy producers and technology companies rose on speculation that mergers and cost-cutting measures will bolster profits.
The Nikkei was up by 0.5 per cent, Hang Seng climbed by 1.7 per cent and Straits Times rose by 1.66 per cent.
