Supreme Court to hear RIL, RNRL petitions
Bench headed by CJI K G Balakrishnan tagged petitions of two companies.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear Mukesh Ambani-run Reliance Industry Ltd's and Anil Ambani-led Reliance Natural Resources Ltd's petitions on the gas dispute between the two firms.

A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan tagged the petitions of the two companies for hearing.

Last week RIL moved the apex court challenging the Bombay High Court order that asked it to supply 28 million standard cubic metres a day of gas to RNRL at $2.34 per one million British thermal units.

Reliance Industries Ltd in its appeal had alleged that the High Court had erred in deciding the three terms -- quantity, tenure and price of gas supply -- to power plants of RNRL affiliates.

RNRL had also moved the Supreme Court seeking modification in the Bombay High Court order to make binding the gas supply from RIL.
