'Deewar Par Direct Lagna, One Tip One Hand Out Hai': Rishabh Pant Explains Gully Cricket Rules, Aces Game Like a Boss
India cricketer Rishabh Pant has shared a clip of him playing a game of gully cricket and acing it like a boss.

Rishabh Pant gave a glimpse of how he must have dominated and bullied the bowlers during his childhood days of playing ‘gully cricket’ before he became a global star with his swashbuckling batting. The star India cricketer shared a clip of him playing a game of gully cricket whose rule he seems to know by heart as he can be seen explaining them to fellow players.

The rules were typical.

Deewar par direct lagna out (Hitting the wall directly is out), one-tip one-hand is out, three beats out…” Pant explains in the video.

And then he shows his wares with the bat.

Pant is currently on a break from cricket as he’s been rested from the ongoing three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh. He’s expected to be back later this month with the three-match Test series against New Zealand at home.

Pant made a successful return to competitive cricket earlier this year when he led Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024. The wicketkeeper-batter had to spend a significant time away from the game as he recovered from injuries of a car accident.

He was also part of India’s T20 World Cup winning squad and scored a century during the Chennai Test against Bangladesh last month.

After the New Zealand Tests, India will gear up for their next major assignment that will see them tour Australia for a five-match series starting third week of November. And former Australia allrounder Shane Watson has predicted Pant to have a ‘big series’.

“He’s (Pant) obviously got great memories from his last tour that he had from a batting perspective in Australia,” Watson was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. “That innings he played at the Gabba was something very special. So knowing that he’s come through his challenges in the last couple of years to be able to come back as an even better player than what he left off, I think he’s going to have a big series.”
