MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant had shared a hug on the field following the entertaining bout between the Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings at Vizag.

As the entertaining clash between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings came to a close at Visakhapatnam, it was the hosts, DC who walked away with the win as they provided CSK their first loss of the season with a victory by 20 runs to also get their first points of the season. Following the clash, both Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni shared a hug, indicating the bond the two share.

It was a special evening for both the wicketkeeper batters as the two managed to entertain the crowds that were eager to see both of them deliver, especially with the bat for their respective sides. Pant has always revealed his admiration for Dhoni and the latter has also played a crucial role in shaping the DC skipper’s career. The two embraced following the entertaining clash where DC came out on top.

The DC skipper Rishabh Pant managed to rack up his first half-century after making his return to IPL 2024. His knock was a crucial one as DC was struggling to improve the scoring rate in the final stages of the innings. Pant who was going at a steady rate, gave the fans a taste of what he can still deliver with boundaries coming all over the park.

Meanwhile, Dhoni came in to bat during a tough situation where CSK needed 71 runs off 23 deliveries. But the legend managed to give the fans at Vizag a massive throwback to his earlier days as he delivered a blistering knock of 37 in just 16 deliveries. This however was in vain as CSK were unable to get the victory.

The Capitals will have their next assignment where they take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Visakhapatnam on April 3 where they will also look to break KKR’s winning streak.

CSK on the other hand will travel to Hyderabad where they take on Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Both sides will be looking to bounce back with a win with SRH having suffered a loss in the afternoon game against Gujarat Titans.
