With a Net Worth of Rs 1450 Crore, Ajay Jadeja Surpasses Virat Kohli to Become the Richest Cricket Personality: Report
Jadeja's royal upgrade has take his net worth over ₹1,450 crore, surpassing superstar Virat Kohli who reportedly boasts a net worth of around ₹1,000 crore.

Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has been named the heir to the Jamnagar Royal Throne in Gujarat. The announcement, made by Maharaja Jamsaheb of Nawanagar on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, places Jadeja in line to inherit a fortune estimated at over ₹1,450 crore. This staggering sum would make him the wealthiest sports personality in India, surpassing even cricket superstar Virat Kohli, whose net worth is estimated at around ₹1,000 crore.

This inheritance solidifies the already deep connection between the Jamnagar royal family and the world of cricket. The prestigious Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy are named after Jadeja’s relatives, KS Ranjitsinhji and KS Duleepsinhji, respectively.

Jadeja, who played 196 ODIs and 15 Test matches for India between 1992 and 2000, is a direct descendant of the royal family. His father, Daulatsinghji Jadeja, was a three-time Member of Parliament from Jamnagar.

In a public statement, Maharaja Jamsaheb expressed his joy at the decision, stating, “The festival of Dussehra marks the day the Pandavas emerged victorious from exile. Today, on Dussehra, I am equally happy, as I have found a resolution to one of my dilemmas thanks to Ajay Jadeja, who has accepted to be my heir.” He further emphasized the significance of this decision for the people of Jamnagar, saying, “Ajay Jadeja taking up the responsibility of serving the people of Jamnagar is truly a boon.”

The Maharaja himself, a former cricketer who captained Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy, inherited the titular headship of Nawanagar in 1966. The family’s lineage traces back to the legendary cricketer Ranjitsinh Jadeja, who ruled Nawanagar from 1907 to 1933.

With this announcement, Ajay Jadeja is set to embark on a new innings, transitioning from the cricket pitch to the royal palace, carrying forward a legacy intertwined with both sport and service.
