Banaras Hindu University To Offer Three New Merit-based Scholarships
The University has received financial assistance for this scholarship under the Pratidan initiative.

There is good news for students in Banaras Hindu University (BHU), which is called the capital of universal education. The legacy of BHU is a matter of pride for India. The University has embodied the virtues of quality education, discipline, goodwill and growth. BHU has been one of the most prestigious universities in India. Three new scholarships are going to be started at the university. These scholarships will help the students. Mumbai’s corporate leader, Rahul Srivastava has started this scholarship in honour of his maternal grandmother, Bindhyachal Devi, his grandfather Madan Mohan Prasad and aunt Bimla Srivastava.

The scholarships have been started for the students of the university’s Faculty of Education, Central Hindu Girls’ School and Central Hindu Boys School. The University has received financial assistance for this scholarship under the Pratidan initiative. The university’s Vice Chancellor Professor, Sudhir Kumar Jain, said in an interview that this will directly benefit the students who are meritorious and lack the financial backing to obtain education. This will aid them to get their desired career and focus on their studies, as it takes off the woes of financial support.

Chandrasekhar, who is the Public Relations Officer of the University, said in an interview that all these scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit and financial status. Under the Bindhyachal Devi Scholarship, a student in the first year of BEd (Special Education) in the Faculty of Education will be given Rs 25,000 per year. Under the Madan Mohan Prasad Scholarship, a student of class 10 at Central Hindu Boys’ School will be given Rs 5000. The Bimla Srivastava Scholarship is for a student of Central Hindu Girls’ School. The sum of Rs 5000 will be awarded.

The Pratidana Initiative of Banaras Hindu University is the anchor behind these developments. It is aimed at mobilising and garnering support from well-wishers and alumni of the Banaras Hindu University, to establish scholarships for meritorious students, need-based financial aid, enhance learning opportunities, and promote excellence in teaching.
