Karnataka’s Vijeta B Hosamani Secures AIR 100 In UPSC 2023 Exam On 4th Attempt
Vijeta Hosamani is very happy because her hard work finally paid off.

Not giving up is the first step towards success. UPSC CSE is considered one of the toughest examinations in the world. Lakhs of candidates apply for this exam each year, out of which only a few succeed. For some, the UPSC 2023 was the last attempt, while for others just a beginning. Similarly, Vijeta B Hosamani from Hubballi in Karnataka secured All-India Rank 100 in UPSC in her fourth attempt. After failing three times in a row, Vijeta B Hosamani finally secured a position in the UPSC 2023. The rank holder credits her right strategy for each stage of the exam for the success. While talking to a media portal, Vijeta said that after the first three attempts, she realised that the prelims exam is not just about testing knowledge, but about developing the ability to solve multiple choice questions. “What helped me get through is figuring out the right way to go about the different stages of the exams rather than focusing on expanding my knowledge,” she shared.

Hailing from a humble background, Hosamani was taught to look beyond herself and serve society in any capacity. To do the same, a UPSC rank holder pursued law but later realised that her true passion could be fulfilled only through Civil Services rather than litigation. After this, she decided to give her first attempt in the year 2020.

After clearing the UPSC exam, Vijeta Hosamani was very happy because her hard work finally paid off and now she would get a chance to serve the country. She says that considering her rank, she is hopeful of a position in the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). She said that her priority is the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

While giving tips to the UPSC aspirants, Vijeta B Hosamani asks the candidates to focus on their journeys while focusing on the snippets of the topper’s experiences. “We must look at our journey thoroughly rather than focusing on anyone else. Primarily introspection and self-confidence should be the focus,” said Vijeta B Hosamani.
