The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC Civil Service Examination (CSE) 2024 prelims notification today, February 14. Interested and eligible candidates can check the notification and apply for the prelims exam on the official website at upsc.gov.in, once out. The CSE prelims exam application process will conclude is March 5. The exam is scheduled to be held on May 26 while the mains exam will be held on October 19.
The notification contains all the details about the exams including the age limit, eligibility criteria, exam structure, and other important dates. To be eligible to apply for the UPSC exam, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or have an equivalent qualification.
UPSC CSE 2024: Vacancy Details
A total of 1056 vacancies have been notified by the commission this year. “The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is expected to be approximately 1056 which include 40 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category, i.e. 06 Vacancies for candidates of (a) blindness and low vision; 12 Vacancies for (b) deaf and hard of hearing; 09 Vacancies for (c) locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy; and 13 Vacancies for (e) multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (c) including deaf-blindness,” reads the official notice by UPSC.
UPSC CSE 2024: How to Apply For Prelims Exam?
Step 1. Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
Step 2. Look for the UPSC CSE 2024 notification link on the homepage.
Step 3. Click on the link. A PDF file containing the prelim exam notification will display on the screen. On another, you will find the application page.
Step 4. Register yourself and fill out the form.
Step 5: Upload the required documents and pay the application fees.
Step 6: Download and save the page for further use.
UPSC CSE 2024: Application fee
To apply for the exam, candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 100. Women, SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disability candidates are exempt from fees. The payment may be made either by remitting the money in any Branch of the State Bank of India by cash or by using the Net Banking facility of any bank or by using Visa/Master/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment.
Applications have been now invited for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination only. Candidates who qualified for the prelims will next have to appear for the Civil Services (Main) Examination and will have to apply online again and submit on-line Detailed Application Form-I along with scanned documents/certificates in support of date of birth, category, and educational qualification with required examination fee, the official notification added.
