What Changes UP Board Will Make To Prevent Cheating In 2025 10th And 12th Exams
For the 2025 UP High School examinations, the details on the cover of the answer sheets will now be printed in dark magenta pink, replacing the previous colour.

The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, commonly referred to as the UP Board, is the largest examination body in Asia, and it has intensified its preparations for the 2025 High School and Intermediate exams. The board is set to introduce stringent measures to ensure a copy-free examination environment.

To prevent cheating at examination centres, the UP Board has significantly modified the design of the answer sheets. As a result, the old answer sheets will no longer be valid. This year, candidates will be required to write the serial number in a square box on the cover page of the answer sheet, instead of the previous practice of writing it in the blank white space.

In addition to relocating the serial number, the UP Board has altered the placement of the monogram and bar code on the answer sheet, as well as changed the colour of the information printed on the cover page. There are 26,98,446 students registered for the Intermediate exam and 27,51,140 students registered for the High School exam. Strict instructions have been issued by UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh to ensure that all exam centres are monitored and run fairly, transparently, and without the possibility of cheating. Each exam centre is thoroughly tested to ensure everything functions smoothly.

For the 2025 High School examinations, the details on the cover of the answer sheets will now be printed in dark magenta pink, replacing the previous colour. The B copy of the answer sheet will be printed in dark crimson. In the 2024 exams, the primary answer sheets were dark brown, and the B sheets were dark violet. For the Intermediate exams, the B sheet will remain violet, while the primary answer sheet will now be brown for the 2025 exams.

Additionally, the left side of the cover page for both the High School and Intermediate main and B answer sheets will have “IB-25” perforated on it. Bar codes are printed on the first and last pages of the answer sheet cover for both levels. The monogram for both High School and Intermediate answer sheets will also be printed on different pages- on page 10 for Intermediate and page 3 for High School.

Another modification is that the page numbers will now be printed at the bottom of the internal pages instead of at the top, for both levels of answer sheets. The main answer sheet for High School will consist of a total of 16 pages, including the cover page, while the Intermediate answer sheet will consist of 32 pages in total, cover page included. The B answer sheet for both levels will have 12 pages in total, including the cover page.
