Riteish Deshmukh Left Fardeen Khan 'Surprised' on Bigg Boss Marathi, Latter Says 'Saw Him Scolding…' | Exclusive
Fardeen Khan says he's happy to be returning to Bollywood without any baggage. He adds he's thrilled to reunite with Riteish Deshmukh after more than a decade.

17 years after Heyy Baby, Fardeen F. Khan and Riteish Deshmukh have reunited for Visfot. However, the film is set in a space far removed from comedy and revolves around two people from different socio-economic backgrounds, whose lives intersect on a fateful day. Talking about it, Fardeen, in an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, says, “I know Riteish very, very well. There’s a lot of comfort, trust, and respect between us. We both have a reasonable amount of experience under our belts, so it’s easier for us to slip into our characters as part of any story."

Working on Visfot also gave Fardeen the chance to witness a different side of Riteish. “Riteish is naturally very funny. But I was on Bigg Boss Marathi recently with Riteish while promoting Khel Khel Mein, and I saw a completely different side of him that took me by surprise. I saw him scolding one of the participants (laughs). I had never seen that side of him before. Visfot too brings out a different aspect of Riteish’s nature," he shares.

Lauding Riteish’s work in the film, Fardeen says, “He has done so amazingly well. The depth and honesty with which he has portrayed the emotions in the film are brilliant. His role is really complex, and he has executed it masterfully. It’s going to be one of his standout performances." Up next, the duo will return to comedy with Housefull 5.

Earlier this year, Fardeen made a comeback to Bollywood after 14 years with Heeramandi. Sharing his excitement, he says, “I feel very lucky to return at a time when such diverse, relevant, and sophisticated content is being written. These back-to-back releases weren’t planned by me. I wish I had the power to do so (laughs)! It just happened this way, and for the best. Sometimes you have to surrender to the process and focus on what’s within your control."

Fardeen views his hiatus as a silver lining, allowing him to resume his career ‘free of any baggage.’ He elaborates, “After a 12-year break, I’m returning without too much baggage. I’m older now, and I came back with the mentality of a newcomer. I wasn’t sure what I would be offered, but I took roles that I believed would allow me to contribute to the narrative."

So, does he feel more open to taking risks? “With Heeramandi, I was told from the beginning that I would have nine scenes. In Khel Khel Mein, I had a supporting role. In Visfot, I’m a parallel lead alongside Riteish. I’m here to act and do interesting work. If a great, meaty part comes my way, I’ll grab it. If not, I’ll continue doing what I love—acting and being part of the storytelling process. I’m in a sweet spot," Fardeen concludes.
