London: Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto Martinez and Ronald Koeman are some of the head coaches of the English Premier League (EPL) who have welcomed and wished luck to new Liverpool tactician, German Jurgen Klopp.
Pochettino, coach of Tottenham Hotspur, on Thursday said he is impressed by the work of Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, which he led to two Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokals and one Champions League final, Efe reported.
"He's a great manager," Pochettino said in a press conference before Saturday's EPL game against Liverpool, stressing that if one looks at Dortmund matches they can see he has clear ideas and knows the way he wants to play.
"The players have to believe in your philosophy and your ideas that's the first important thing. When you are a manager like Klopp, and you have shown the capacity to reach the Champions League final, I think you have the skill to adapt your ideas to a new culture and football," added the Spurs manager.
Klopp, 48, was announced as the new coach of Liverpool for the next three seasons on October 8, replacing Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers.
The former coach of Borussia Dortmund will debut in the EPL on Saturday at White Hart Lane Stadium against Tottenham.
Meanwhile, Everton's Spanish coach Roberto Martinez said: "I think it's for everyone to see how impressive he was during his time in Germany. His quality as a coach and a manager was one of the biggest strengths of the Bundesliga. I'm sure he's going to be a really good fit for the Premier League."
For his part, Southampton's Dutch manager Ronald Koeman said: "Jurgen Klopp has a lot of experience with Dortmund but he is a good coach and his history is positive. It is a great club to be at and they have good players."
