Liverpool: Everton have signed striker Arouna Kone from Wigan Athletic, with manager Roberto Martinez swooping on his former club to make his first signing at the Premier League side.
Everton say the Ivory Coast international has joined on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old Kone scored 13 goals for Martinez at Wigan last season as the team was relegated from the Premier League.
Martinez was hired by Everton after David Moyes replaced Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
