Lille Footballer Yusuf Yazici's Home Plundered by Burglars While he was on European Duty
Burglars targeted the residence of Lille player Yazici while he was away on UEFA Conference League duty against Kl Klaksvik, resulting in the theft of valuables like watches, leather items and clothing.

Turkish international Yusuf Yazici’s home was ransacked while the player was on European duty. The 26-year-old’s home was broken into by criminals who stole two valuable watches, leather items and clothing. This happened while the footballer was competing in a UEFA Conference League match between Lille and Kl Klaksvik. The match took place on Thursday at the Decathlon Arena in Villeneuve-d Ascq.

Having won the game, Yazici returned to his home only to discover that he had been robbed. According to The Sun, this was the second time that Yazici was the victim of a robbery, since arriving in France back in 2019. Reportedly, nobody was harmed in this burglary.

Lille always had a history of finding talent and has often proven that with some good signings. Yusuf Yazici is one such player who is already turning heads around with some brilliant displays for the Ligue 1 side. He has made 113 appearances for the French club while scoring 23 goals and providing 12 assists. He played a massive role in Lille’s Ligue 1 title triumph back in 2021. Yazici had seven goals in 21 games that season. Before making his first overseas move to France, Yazici was on the radar of several European powerhouses including the likes of Manchester United. The Red Devils had reportedly watched him play for the Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor in 2019 and were keen on signing him. However, no deal could be reached between the two parties.

Speaking of Yusuf Yazici’s game, Lille were able to pick up a 3-0 victory over Kl Klaksvik. Yaziici opened the scoring for his side with a 29th-minute penalty. The first half ended with a scoreline of 1-0 in favour of the French side. The match saw some late drama as Joannes Danielsen was sent off in the 84th minute, leading to another penalty from Lille. This time it was Angel Gomes who slotted the ball home to double the lead for Lille. Klaksvik experienced more misfortune in the dying stages of the game with Jakup Andreasen conceding the second red card for his side in minute 94. A third penalty had now been awarded to Lille that saw Edon Zhgegrova score the final goal of the game.

A victory against Kl meant that Lille finished Group A as the table toppers with four wins in six games. The second place was taken by Slovan Bratislava, followed by Olimpija and then finally Kl Klaksvik. This means that the team will now move to the knockout phase of the tournament.
