Kolkata: After beating Venezuela by a solitary goal in the FIFA international friendly on Friday, Argentine players led by Lionel Messi turned up for a full-fledged practice session at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan here on Saturday.
The players had a practice session for about 90 minutes in the evening.
Coach Alejandro Sabella divided the players into two groups and those who played on Friday against Venezuela had a light session for about 40 minutes.
The remainder of the players stayed on with Sabella and they had some practice of passing skills and set piece movements.
Messi, whose corner yielded the winning goal, was seen in his usual light mood as he made fun with his teammates, did some jogging before a short practice match with a makeshift goalpost in the midfield.
Before leaving the ground, Messi stood a for a while near the tunnel, smiling and waving to the football fans who turned up to watch him and his team-mates in their practice session.
It was sort of an emotional 'goodbye' from Messi whose date with the Salt Lake stadium will come to an end tomorrow after a similar practice session in the evening.
Sabella, his bench players and the support staff, however, stayed on for another round of practice.
Argentina will fly to Dhaka on Monday morning for another FIFA international friendly against Nigeria the next day.
The Venezuelans, meanwhile, left the city in batches.
