Madrid: Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly on his way back to England after being booed by the club's fans recently.

The former Inter Milan, Chelsea and Porto manager was heckled in the Galacticos’ home win against Athletic Bilbao last weekend, after his defensive tactics had come under fire during the 2-1 loss in the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final.

The second leg of the Copa del Rey tie against Barcelona last Wednesday did his reputation some good after Real’s comeback from 2-0 down to draw the match 2-2.

Their 3-1 win against Real Zaragoza Saturday night saw the fans trying to mend their fences with him, but reports say that has not improved the situation and Mourinho desperately wants a way out from Real.

Many in Spain believe the Portuguese’s time is up at the Bernabeu and there is a big possibility of him returning to England, where he won two titles as Chelsea coach. Mourinho himself has often expressed his wish to return to the English Premier League.

According to a source close to Mourinho, "Jose is sick and tired of this situation at Madrid. It doesn't matter if he wins this season or not. It's not about the money. He's decided to come back to England and he will go in the summer."

Fans began to show their discontent over Mourinho’s tactics toward the end of the 2-1 loss to Barcelona in the first leg of the Copa del Rey earlier this month - the club's ninth defeat in 13 matches against their biggest rivals.

Thereafter many publications in Spain reported of a rift between Mourinho and the team members, who were not happy with his modus operandi. Specifically, Mourinho and defender Sergio Ramos reportedly disagreed about a number of issues related to the team.

Mourinho joined Real in 2010 after leading Inter to two Serie A titles and a Champions League title. They beat Barcelona in the final and that is what brought about his arrival to Bernabeu.

Real are currently leading the La Liga table by seven points and are on course to give Mourinho his first title at the Bernabeu, but his poor track record against Barcelona and his domineering attitude is not sitting well with the bosses and there will be little surprise if he goes back to England this summer.
