London: Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri is set to stay at the Emirates Stadium for the remainder of his contract, according to reports emerging from France.
The Frenchman had been strongly linked with a 22 million pounds move to Manchester City before the end of the summer transfer window, but French TV station Canal+ claims that talks have broken down, and that Nasri will now see out the final year of his contract with Arsenal.
The midfielder was a surprise inclusion from the start of Saturday's Premier League encounter at home to Liverpool, with many expecting him to follow club captain Cesc Fabregas out of the Emirates.
However, Nasri may now stay in north London and see out the remainder of his contract meaning the Gunners could lose him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
