Paris: Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has revealed that "the door is open" with regards to a potential move to France for LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham, insisting he would always consider the former AC Milan star.
Beckham has attracted interest from the Premier League with QPR and Tottenham keen on a move for the ex-Manchester United man, with Hoops owner Tony Fernandes exclusively confirming to Goal.com that he would be interested in the 36-year-old, if it "makes good sense" for the club.
Former AC Milan boss Leonardo coached Beckham during the ex-England captain's loan spell with the Serie A giants and insists that Qatari-owned PSG would welcome him in the French capital.
"The door is open," the Brazilian told BBC Sport.
"He is more than a football player - he's a brand, a pop star. I would always consider him."
Asked whether he would be interested in luring English players to France following Joe Cole's loan move to Lille, Leonardo insisted: "Why not? I have an English player who I really like and I worked with him.
"It's someone that I really appreciate and admire so much - his values and everything he has done in football. It's David Beckham - a big brand of English football.
"I coached him in AC Milan and we created a good relationship. He is more than a football player, but when you see him every day he trains and plays like a kid.
"He respects the rules, listens to you and wants the best for the team. That's why for me he is a big example. I worked with him and that's why I talk about his name."
Leonardo also talked about his plans to create a new brand for the side, who finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season, to improve their chances of joining Europe's elite.
"We have the Eiffel Tower in our club badge - we have to use that - it's not only French, but a worldwide brand," Leonardo said.
