London: Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has insisted that he has not thought about the England job and remains focused on the future at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp has emerged as the clear favourite to replace Fabio Capello following the Italian's resignation on Wednesday evening.

Despite being backed to succeed Capello by the likes of Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand, the 64-year-old claims he is concentrating only on Tottenham's fixture against Newcastle United on Saturday.

"I don't know anything about the England job," Redknapp told the BBC. I've not even thought about it, I've got a big game Saturday with Tottenham. Tottenham is my focus."

Thanking Spurs chairman Daniel Levy for his support during his recent time spent on trial on charges of tax evasion, Redknapp added that he was looking forward to the future with Tottenham.

"People have been fantastic, Tottenham, the chairman, the family and everybody," Redknapp said. "It was a case which should never have been brought to court in the first place to be honest with you.

"When Mr Levy gave me the job three years ago, he looked at it before he appointed me obviously and he realised it was a case that had no substance to it, otherwise he wouldn't have given me the job at Tottenham.

"It's past us now and we look forward and we look to the future."
