Open Reddit. Go to https://www.reddit.com/ in your computer's web browser. This will open the Reddit home page. If you aren't signed into Reddit, make sure you sign in before attempting to leave a comment: click log in in the top-right corner of the page, then enter your username and password.
Open a post. Find the post on which you want to leave a quote, then click the post's title to open the post.
Find the comment you want to quote. Scroll down until you find the comment from which you want to post a quote. If you want to quote the original post's content, you'll find it at the top of the thread.
Select the section you want to quote. Click and drag your mouse cursor across the comment or content you want to quote to select it.
Copy the selection. Press either Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘ Command+C (Mac) to do so.
Click the "Quotation" icon. It's a set of quotes (") below the "Comment as" text box. Doing this creates a quote block, which resembles a vertical grey line, in the text box. If you want to reply to a comment, you'll first click Reply below the comment.
Paste in your copied selection. Press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Command+V (Mac) to do so. You should see the copied quote appear to the right of the quote block.
Close the quote block. Press ↵ Enter to start a new line, then press ← Backspace once to get rid of the quote formatting.
Add your response text. Type in whatever you want to say in response to the quote below the quote itself.
Click COMMENT. It's a dark-blue button in the lower-right side of the text box. Doing so posts your quote and comment. If you're replying to a comment, you'll instead click REPLY below the text box.
