Mentioning Someone in WhatsApp

Open WhatsApp.

Select a group chat.

If you don't see the group you're looking for, you can search for it by name. Tap the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen, then type the group's name. You'll be able to select it from the search results.

Tap the typing area.

Tap Type a Message to open the keyboard. It's in the text box at the bottom of the chat.

Tap the symbol and number key.

Tap ?123 on the keyboard. It's at the keyboard's bottom-left edge. If you don't see that key, look for one that says “Sym” or “@123” instead.

Tap the "@" symbol.

Tap the @ key on the keyboard. A list of group members will appear.

Select a group member.

You may have to scroll down the list to find the right person. The person's name will now appear after the “@” symbol in the text box. You can tag multiple people using this method.

Send your message.

Tap the Send icon. It's the green icon with a white paper airplane on the right side of the text box. The tag(s) will now appear in the group chat.

What's your reaction?
