EC Seeks K’taka Chief Secy’s Explanation Over Govt Ads in Poll-bound Telangana; PM Modi Holds Grand Roadshow in Hyderabad | Updates
Telangana Election 2023: Telangana's identity is from technology, but KCR stamped it with superstition, said PM Modi, promising to send 'corrupt people from BRS' to jail.

Five day left for the election results of five stated to be declared, politics has heated up with political parties highlighting each other’s failures in a bitter battle. Before the December 3 results, Telangana will vote on November 30, following which exit polls will begin to trickle in by evening.

The top leaders, thus, are now focusing on the south Indian state with a blitzkrieg of campaign. While Union home minister has been stressing on ending the reservation for Muslims in the state and distributing them among the scheduled castes, K Chandrashekhar Rao’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has been promising sops to the minority community.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to visit Telangana on November 27, Monday. The prime minister is scheduled to visit Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Hyderabad at 8am, following which he will hold rallies at Mahabubnagar at 11am, Karimnagar at 1pm and a road show in Kacheguda at 4pm.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda will also address public meetings in Telangana. At 2:05m, he is scheduled to be at Nizamabad’s NSF Ground. At 3:10pm, he will be at Banswada’s government junior colleage in Kamareddy and at 4:20pm, he will at Jukkal’s Madhur HQ in Kamareddy.

Union home minister Amit Shah will address a public meeting at noon in Karimnagar’s Huzurabad.

• The Election Commission has sought an explanation from Karnataka Chief Secretary over state government ads in poll-bound Telangana. The Commission said these advertisements are in “gross violation” of the model code of conduct.

• The EC also said that further publication of any advertisements by Telangana government shall be stopped till necessary approvals are taken from the Commission.

• PM Modi holds a 3- kilometre long roadshow in Hyderabad.

• Election Commission of India on Monday revoked permission to disburse Rythu Bandhu scheme. This came after BRS leader Harish Rao made an open declaration that funds to farmers would be transferred on November 28, in violation of Model Code of Conduct.

• Reacting to the development, Congress veteran KC Venugopal lashed out at BRS and said that “the money, which is right of the farmers”, will not reach them on time because of “irresponsible and narrow self-serving approach of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi”.

• Slamming the Congress for lodging a complaint with the Election Commission requesting it to stop the state government’s proposal to make payment to the beneficiaries under the “Rythu Bandhu” scheme, BRS MLC K Kavitha on Monday said dirty politics of the grand old party has once again surfaced. “Dirty politics of Congress has once again surfaced. They are delaying the payment of Rythu Bandhu, which is an ongoing payment. It is not an election promise. It is not a new programme that is made for the elections,” she told PTI.

• A BJP leader on Monday accused BRS Patancheru MLA candidate, Gudem Mahipal Reddy, of using “deepfake” to “fool Telangana people on Instagram”.

• The BJP on Monday released photos of PM Modi, stating that the prime minister prayed for the good health, well-being and prosperity of 140 crore Indians at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala.

• Union home minister Amit Shah has alleged a secret understanding between the Congress and the BRS in the Telangana state assembly elections. He claimed that they will support each other in different elections. “The Congress will support the BRS so that K Chandrasekhar Rao will become chief minister once again. In return, the BRS will support the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections so that Rahul Gandhi becomes Prime Minister,” Shah claimed at an election rally at Makthal in Narayanpet district.

• At an election rally in Telangana’s Kamareddy, PM Modi on Sunday said, “TRS changed its name to BRS. UPA became INDIA bloc. But nothing will change despite a change in their nomenclature. Their DNA is the same. They are not loyal to people. Both BRS and Congress fear the rising growth of BJP in Telangana,” he said.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, while addressing an election rally at Mahabubabad said that the BJP will bring Telangana out of the clutches of BRS. He further said that it is his party’s responsibility to send the corrupt leaders of the ruling party to jail.
