Kangana Ranaut Roped In For Vishnu Manchu-starrer Kannappa: Reports

Vishnu Manchu starrer Kannappa is one of the most anticipated movies of Indian cinema. It is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh who is known for the creation of the Mahabharata show on the channel Star Plus. Another notable USP point of the movie is the cameo appearances of superstars Prabhas and Mohanlal. Prabhas is set to play the role of Lord Shiva while Vishnu Manchu will be essaying the role of his devotee. Mohanlal will have a cameo appearance in Kannappa. The details about his role have not been revealed by the makers yet.

Now, as per reports, it is expected that Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut will play the role of Goddess Parvati in the movie.

The inclusion of Kangana Ranaut in Kannappa is creating a buzz in the entertainment industry. Kangana Ranaut and Prabhas were last seen sharing the screens for the movie, Ek Niranjan. It was directed by Puri Jagannadh and starred Prabhas, Kangana Ranaut, Sonu Sood and Mukul Dev in the lead roles. It was released in 2009.

If the reports are true, then Kannappa will mark the reunion of the duo after 16 years. The makers have not confirmed this news yet. Earlier, it was also speculated that Nayanthara would don the role of Goddess Parvati alongside Prabhas. The photos of Kangana Ranaut in the costume of the goddess are going viral now.

Kannappa is being made with a budget of around Rs 100 crores. Being shot in Telugu, the film will be released in multiple Indian languages in theatres worldwide. The film is being produced under the banner of Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory. Nupur Sanon was finalised as the lead heroine in the movie but she later backed out due to the non-availability of dates and other reasons. The story of the movie is written by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, G Nageswara Reddy, Eshwar Reddy and Thota Prasad. The music of the movie is jointly composed by Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy. The release date of the movie has not been announced yet by the makers.
