Raghava Lawrence starrer action drama film Jigarthanda DoubleX released today. Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, it has received good reviews from the audience. On this occasion, the Jigarthanda DoubleX team visited Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust. It is an independent temple trust dedicated to Tirupati’s presiding deity. They performed the Srivari Seva in the temple trust. Srivari Seva is a voluntary service where devotees render free services to fellow pilgrims who come for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara every day.
A picture of the team at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust has surfaced on social media. Raghava Lawrence, director Karthik Subbaraj, and others performed special pujas. They wished for the success of their film. Afterwards, the film crew clicked selfies with the fans on the premises of the Tirumala temple.
SJ Suryah, Nimisha Sajayan, Shine Tom Chacko and Vidhu also acted in the movie. Jigarthanda DoubleX is the sequel to the 2014 film Jigarthanda starring Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Lakshmi Menon and others. Notably, actor Vijay Sethupathi appeared in a cameo role in this film.
Coming back to Raghava, he last acted in the film Chandramukhi 2, directed by P Vasu and Mahendran. Kangana Ranaut, Aathmika, Premgi Amaren and others also acted in this film. Chandramukhi 2 tanked at the box office. Critics pointed out that the shoddy script, poor VFX and music were some factors why Chandramukhi 2 flopped. Critics also criticised Kangana Ranaut’s acting skills and her Bharatanatyam performance. Chandramukhi 2 is the sequel to the 2005 film Chandramukhi starring Rajinikanth and Jyotika in the lead roles. Chandramukhi was quite successful at the box office.
Raghava Lawrence recently talked about the failure of Chandramukhi 2 at the launch event of one of the songs of Jigarthanda DoubleX. The song was unveiled in Hyderabad. He said, “I got my money as a fee for Chandramukhi 2 and acted with four heroines. We didn’t win every time in life. I thought about becoming a dance master while working as a side dancer. Then became a director and hero. It is because of God’s grace I am getting offers as a hero with the kind of glamour I have. We don’t have to think about hits and flops. We must do our work, they will follow.”
