While the bodies of the two girls were found in the Sindhu river some distance from the area from where they were last spotted, the body of the young boy was found four kilometres away in Madhya Pradesh’s Pawaiya.
It has been reported that Anshu was preparing for NEET, Bhoomi was in the 12th standard, and Kittu was in the 8th standard.
According to senior police officials, the husband of the missing woman and her father has been questioned. The woman’s father shared that her husband, Rajendra Singh Jatav, would physically abuse her after drinking alcohol. The family was reportedly suffering mental harassment due to Jatav’s behaviour.
The incident took place in Gwalior’s Kalyani village, which falls under the purview of Antri police station. On October 15, Jatav, who is a resident of Kalyani village, reported that his wife and children are missing. He informed the police that his wife Mamta, daughters Bhavna and Bhumika, and son Kittu Jatav had left Kalyani for Murar but did not return.
The police initiated a search for the missing siblings and their mother based on Jatav’s complaint. After they reached Dhumeshwar Dham, the police discovered Mamta’s bag on the banks of the Sindhu river. A note was recovered from the bag which read, “My husband physically abuses me. Being fed up with this, I am dying by suicide along with my children.”
