The government has proposed to widen three state roads and four national highways from the existing two-lane to four-lane under public private partnership(PPP) mode.
If approved, the central government would provide up to 40 percent funds the projects.
The roads and buildings department has already sent the proposal for widening three state roads to the central government.
For the four national highways, estimations are being prepared by the officials.
According to the officials, Rs 1,620 crore will be required to widen the three state roads and Rs 2,450 crore for the four national highways, for a stretch of 567 km across the state.
Speaking to Express engineer-inchief of the project G Jagannadha Rao said the central government is encouraging the public and private partnership mode for execution of the projects.
