KOCHI: At least 544 litres of foreign liquor was seized from various parts of the district in the past two months. As many as 172 culprits have been arrested in connection with the 1,481 cases which have been registered under Abkari Act, in the raids conducted from August 1 to October 1, said Excise Deputy Commissioner K Mohanan.Also, 7,260 litres of spirit, 8.4 litres of toddy, 238.75 litres of extract, 5.325 grams of ganja, 8.750 litres of mixed liquor and 1,730 wash were seized.Raids were conducted in all the licensed liquor shops and bars. An amount of 687 litres of toddy and 228 litres of foreign liquor have been taken for sampling.
