Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Saturday said strict action would be taken against those found responsible for the death of 11 people with special needs at a government-run home and asked officials to conduct inspection of all public hostels.
At a meeting attended by Health Minister Rajendra Rathore, Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Arun Chaturvedi, Chief Secretary C S Rajan and other officers, Raje said action would be taken against senior officers also, if found guilty.
She directed officials to conduct inspection at all government-run hostels and ensure sanitation, hygiene, supply of potable water, and others facilities.
The government has also taken action against 7 people in the case. Six staffs are suspended and Director for the Specially-abled is placed awaiting posting orders.
Eleven people with special needs, including eight children, staying at a government-run home near here have died due to suspected bacterial infection allegedly after drinking contaminated water between April 16 and 27.
All of them were staying in a government-run home for children situated in Jamdoli area.
