VISAKHAPATNAM: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials conducted searches in the house of retired RTO P Nookaraju's co-brother Vijaya Kumar, who is a doctor at Hyderabad, on Monday. The house was locked on Sunday.ACB officials have begun the necessary table work to establish disproportionate assets of the former RTO.According to the rule book of the ACB, the department has to assess the properties against the income from the date of joining to the duty.The ACB has no right to assess the properties a c q u i r e d a f t e r superannuation.But it was found that Nookaraju, who retired from service on June 30, 2010, acquired two big properties, worth `1 crore, after his retirement only.According to the ACB officials, some of Nookaraju's assets were registered in the names of his two sons, three sisters-in-law (wife's sisters) and co-brother.Meanwhile, it was found that IT officials sealed four houses reportedly belonging to Nookaraju. So the ACB officials are holding talks with IT officials to make combined searches on those assets."We already wrote a letter to the IT officials on the issue. The IT officials are supposed to respond in 20 days. Once they agree, we will begin the combined search," DSP of ACB Ramakrishna Babu told Express.The ACB officials are also assessing the properties of Nookaraju's kin. "Once the searches on properties of his kin are complete, the ACB has to workout on the property values against their incomes.However, we found some receipts which are more than sufficient to prove that Nookaraju registered his properties in the names of his relatives," an ACB official told Express.
