Patna: Film actor and former MP Govinda today ruled out joining active politics saying he had already said good bye to it. "I felt that it would be proper to quit politics because I don't have much experience in this field," he said at an event here to promote his new film 'Loot', to be released nation-wide on November 4.
Asked whether he liked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar more than RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, the former Congress MP from Mumbai North constituency said, "I have already quit politics long back and there is no meaning in my making any statement on it."
Rather, the actor says he shares a strong bond with the people of Bihar since his childhood days. Elaborating more on his bonding with the place, Govinda
said his mother, a classical singer, would visit the state frequently and that he had received the blessings and love and affection of its people.
Greeting the people on the occasion of 'Chhath', he said he was hopeful of good response to his new film and its success here.
Asked about his new ventures, the actor said there were a few more movies like 'Bindas' and 'Banda' in the pipeline. Produced by Suniel Shetty and Shabbir Boxwala and directed by Rajneesh Thakur, 'Loot' stars Govinda, Shweta Bhardwaj, Mahakshay Chakraborty, Hansika Motwani, Sunil Shetty and Javed Jaffrey in lead roles.
The music of the film is composed by Shamir Tandon and Mika Singh.
