New Delhi: Days after Australia demanded payment of dues in the nineteenth Commonwealth Games, Britain also demanded CWG payment.
British High Commissioner Sir Richard Stagg sought early resolution of outstanding CWG payment to the UK broadcaster, SIS Live.
Sir Richard in a statement on Friday said, "We are pursuing this matter with extreme urgency. SIS Live fulfilled its contractual obligations, against which all payments should have been made by now. The company is owed Rs 96 crore. It is not right that the company should be penalised in this way."
The Shunglu panel had blocked the payments to the UK broadcaster alleging irregularities.
Sources in the British High Commission said that the High Commissioner will raise the matter personally with the Shuglu Committee and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry as he is concerned about damage to SIS's reputation.
