AIADMK spreads its wings in town panchayats too

VELLORE: Out of the 16 town panchayats in Vellore district, the ruling AIADMK has won 9 seats while the DMK has bagged 5 seats, leaving two for the independent candidates. M Mani and M Bhuvaneswari from Kaveripakkam and Timiri town panchayats respectively have defeated both the AIADMK and DMK candidates.In Alangayam town panchayat, AIADMK candidate J Manjula defeated her DMK rival Udhayakumari. In Kalavai town panchayat, R Jayakumar of AIADMK defeated the DMK candidate K Sakthivel.In Natrampalli, it was a close fight between the AIADMK and the independent candidate. V Saroja of AIADMK defeated her nearest independent candidate C Lakshmi.Nirmala Manimaran of AIADMK defeated her DMK rival Pichaiammal in Odugathur town panchayat. In the Pallikonda town panchayat Subramani of AIAMDK defeated his Congress rival S Venkatesan quite comfortably.AIADMK’s N Karunanidhi has been declared elected in Panapakkam town panchayat. In Pennathur town panchayat, Arulnathan of AIADMK has been declared elected. A L Vijayan of AIADMK has been declared elected in Sholinghur town panchayat.In Ammoor, DMK candidate K Rajalakshmi defeated her nearest PMK rival Revathi. Selvi of DMK has won the Thiruvalam town panchayat.She defeated her nearest AIADMK candidate Sumathi. In Uthayenderam town panchayat, A Selvaraj of DMK defeated the AIADMK candidate Pichandi.
