Aligarh Muslim University controversy continues, administration refuses to lift ban
"Instead of saying all this Vice Chancellor should provide books," students said.

Aligarh: Uproar continues over the controversial comments by the Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor as the administration has rejected demands to end restrictions on women undergraduate students from using the main library on campus.

University Vice Chancellor barred undergraduate girl students from entering the library saying boys will follow them. Some students though are now supporting the statement.

Many like Ramsha, a first year B Com student at the women's college of Aligarh Muslim University, have said that the library on their campus is insufficient and that's why they need to use the Maulana Azad library.

Ramsha said, "Books can be issued for a longer time there. Vice Chancellor is wrong."

"Instead of saying all this Vice Chancellor should provide books," students said.

Even as the Vice Chancellor was in Lucknow for a function, the university explained that he was not talking about administrative policy but about a space issue.

Meanwhile some students supporting the V-C carried out a march against the media. These students even gave bizarre statements in support of the Vice Chancellor

"Instead of going to library girls go elsewhere. It's for our protection," some female students said.

While some students supported the V-C there's an overwhelming majority which roundly criticized his statements.

What's your reaction?
