APRS plans protest

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham (APRS) organised a round table meeting on problems of farmers at Mukdum Bhavan on Monday.The meeting resolved to organise a threehour silent protest at Indira Park on October 5 demanding a better deal for small and marginal farmers.The meeting adopted 13 resolutions on various issues pertaining to farmers.The APRS leaders decided to visit the areas where farmers observed a crop holiday this kharif season in protest against lack of support price for their produce.The Sangham demanded that the government come to the rescue of drought-hit farmers.It demanded uninterrupted power to the farm sector among other things.
