Chataral (Jammu): The Army has killed two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants involved in the killing of Hindus in the Chataral area of Kashmir's Poonch District.
Security forces recovered AK- 47 rifles, magazines, several ammunition, mobile, satellite phones, tapes on jihad and diaries were recovered from the slain LeT militants.
"From the diaries and tapes recovered from them, it seems this group was involved in the killings of Hindus. From the writings in the diary it reads they were conducting a jihad on them," Commanding Officer of 39 Rashriya Rifles of Army, Colonel Rajinder Kumar Rai said.
Kashmir has been at the core of a dispute between India and Pakistan for the past five decades.
Relations between the nuclear-rival neighbours had improved since a peace initiative was launched in 2004.
However, it again hit a low after a serial blast rocked Mumbai on July 11, killing 186 people.
